Annals of Spiru Haret University. Sociology and Psychology Series (ISSN: 1582-6635) is the journal associated with the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of Spiru Haret University. It started in 2000 and during its appearance, the journal managed to gather scholars from various generations and different nationalities, with outstanding contributions in all the fields they cover.
The Annals of Spiru Haret University. Sociology and Psychology Series presents the most innovative scholarly research and theory. Currently, the journal is based on blind peer-review.
Its dual orientation represents a wide window to interdisciplinarity, thus targeting both students, professors, researchers and professionals in sociology and social assistance, and those in the area of psychology, pedagogy and anthropology. The journal provides complete and balanced coverage of the field’s latest developments and advances, through original articles and special features such as Research Briefs, Essays, Commentary, and Book Reviews. An international array of distinguished authors brings you original analyses and perspectives covering a wide variety of areas.
Annals of Spiru Haret University. Sociology and Psychology Series’s main objectives are both to expand the publication space offered to scholars and graduate students and, on the other hand, to be included within the set of psychology and sociology journals that take a more generalist and eclectic approach on psychology and sociology issues given the current tendency to produce rather highly specialized works.
Therefore, the journal was conceived in such a manner as to be accessible to both students and professionals. Its structure gives room to a very diverse, eclectic and multidisciplinary range of psychology and sociology studies and research. For example within the structure of the journal we have the following parts:
Editorial – members of the editorial team as well as invited professionals present their theoretical conceptions and express their views on the way psychology and sociology are practiced, the role these two fields play in social life and the way their role is perceived by the public, the importance of research in psychology and sociology and the best means to develop and expand the research.
Interview – well known personalities in the field of psychology and sociology and related areas are interviewed regarding a wide range of contemporary psychology and sociology issues and the latest developments in their area of expertise. Members outside of the editorial team are also invited to submit interviews for publication
Research Reports – empirical studies, independent of orientation or school, carried out by psychologists, sociologists and students, individually or in teams.
Theoretical Contributions – articles relying on original and creative approaches of a wide range of psychology or sociology themes, having at their core the proposal of new concepts, theories or models. Interdisciplinary works are most encouraged.
Literature Reviews – critical analysis of existing scientific literature offering an original perspective on already validated and accepted theories, concepts or models.
Book Reviews – this column includes reviews of recent books on any topic within psychology (and related fields). Members outside of the editorial team are also invited to submit book reviews for publication.
The texts are published in Romanian and in other international languages (English, French).
This journal aims to strengthen professional and scientific community in social and human sciences in Romania, but also to insure a space for communication with foreign experts. It is a complementary resource of study for students, a mean of communication among members of professional communities, and a place for the affirmation of many authors from the field of sociology and psychology.
